THEY DON'T DATE.
Carl Zeiss founded his optical company in Jena
in 1846 making microscopes. By the 1860’s he
was considered to be one best makers of optical
instruments in Germany.
By the end of the 19th century they had made optics
into a modern industry, and by WWI Zeiss were
the world's largest camera lens manufacturer.
From WWI to WWII their products were of the
finest quality and they were to become the global
benchmark for all makers of telescopes and
binoculars. At Hatchwell we specialise in these
iconic and timeless pieces. Browse our collections
