A late 19th century oak Wooton desk or "cabinet office secretary" by the Wooton Desk Co. Indianapolis, Indiana.

Width of desk open: 83 inches, closed: 41 inches.

The king of desks, William S. Wooton an Indianapolis entrepreneur, who was later to become a Protestant preacher, obtained patents for his design and established a company in 1870. Production continued until circa 1884.
